Workforce

We’ve got talent -- and we are training more.

Texas communities boast 37 highly-ranking universities, 50 community college districts, many vocational training programs, and strong local K-12 school districts, which together feed a diverse pipeline of talent to meet the needs of our broad industry spectrum.

We’re here to work.

Texas communities are home to a large population of ready-to-work Texans; our total available workforce of 13 million makes Texas the second largest civilian workforce in the United States. The workforce is continuously growing with Texas’ population, surpassing the growth of any other state, adding more than 6 million people since 2000.

We fill gaps.

There are tools offered to help Texas be a partner for businesses and talent. Texas’ job training program, the Skills Development Fund through Texas Workforce Commission, provides customized training to increase Texas workers’ skills to support your unique operations.
