Buda, TX – January 13, 2026 – The Roundabout, a purpose-built mixed-use destination in West Buda in the heart of Hays County, today announced a significant milestone in its development as Buda’s newest community hub. The project is made possible through a private-public partnership between the City of Buda and the Buda Economic Development Corporation (Buda EDC). Purposefully designed to fill a growing demand for a central place where residents can connect, relax, and build community, The Roundabout represents a new chapter for one of Central Texas’s fastest-growing cities.
Unlike traditional retail centers or strip malls, The Roundabout in Buda has been intentionally designed to be a walkable, mixed-use development that blends the city’s unique and welcoming small-town charm with the rapid regional growth. Shaped around a signature circular promenade, the development integrates retail, dining, office space, and inviting outdoor areas into a seamless, community-centric experience. Every detail, from shaded gathering spaces to pedestrian-friendly pathways, will encourage meaningful moments and foster a sense of belonging.
As Buda continues to experience high population growth, residents have expressed a strong desire for a true community gathering place where families, friends, and neighbors can come together, not just to shop or dine, but to spend time, celebrate, and connect. The Roundabout was created to meet that need.
“This project is a true reflection of what the people of Buda have been asking for—a place where community can thrive,” said Jennifer Storm, Chief Executive Officer for the Buda Economic Development Corporation. “The Roundabout enhances quality of life while honoring the small-town feeling that makes Buda special.”
The City of Buda and Buda EDC have played an essential role in bringing The Roundabout to life. Through a collaborative public–private partnership, the organizations helped shape a development that aligns with the city’s long-term vision for walkable, community-focused growth that supports local businesses and enhances quality of life. Their support ensures that The Roundabout not only benefits residents but also attracts forward-thinking retailers, restaurant owners, and office tenants drawn to Buda’s strong community identity and growth trajectory.
For prospective tenants, The Roundabout offers a unique opportunity to join a highly visible, fast-growing corridor with exceptional access and a built-in customer base. Its thoughtful design and community-oriented appeal make it an ideal location for concepts that want to integrate seamlessly into the fabric of Buda.
“Buda’s evolution calls for intentional spaces that bring people together, and The Roundabout development is focused on create a community-gathering environment ,” said Tim Dowling, Roundabout in Buda Developer. “At the same time, the people-forward design was intentionally created to stand the test of time. This type of multiuse destination will serve residents and support economic growth in the City for generations to come.”
Construction begins February 2026 and phase 1 is expected to be completed in late 2026. The entire project, estimated to be completed in 2027. Project updates and tenant announcements will be announced on The Roundabout’s website at RoundaboutInBuda.com.
